CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a chemical compound from the Cannabid sativa plant, which is also known as marijuana or hemp.
It’s a naturally occurring substance that’s used in products like oils and edibles to impart a feeling of relaxation and calm. Unlike its cousin, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the major active ingredient in marijuana, CBD is not psychoactive.
What’s in your oils?
Our CBD is added to MCT oil. MCT oil is an oil safe for consumption and even used in cooking and Keto diets. Other than that, we add a touch of flavouring and that is that! None of our products have fillers, or any nasties in there and we try and keep everything as organic as we can. Many of our products are safe for vegans too such as our oil.
Will CBD get me high?
Nope. The cannabis plant is made up of two main players, CBD and THC.
THC is what you would associate with “getting high” from smoking cannabis. CBD on the other hand is non psychoactive, which means whilst you get the relaxing, calming effects you don’t get the “high” that you would get from THC. The vast majority of our products are whats called “Broad Spectrum.” This means that it has zero THC content and is certified so.
You do however never know how your body will react to any supplement you might take. As such we would always recommend you speak to a doctor and for your first time make sure you are somewhere safe and comfortable such as your own home.
What are the health benefits of CBD?
We are not doctors, so we can’t outright claim that CBD has any health benefits or that it will cure illnesses. This isn’t due to CBD being unsafe, but because there have not been any long term studies of CBD and it’s effects it can’t be claimed to be a medicine.
What we can share is the anecdotal evidence that our customers have provided and that you can find plenty of information on online. Our customers have fed back to us that it has helped them with anxiety, depression, sleep problems, managing pain, helping manage fibromyalgia, easing shakes and tremors, lower blood pressure and more.
As with any supplement, we would recommend you do your research before committing to taking them. There are thousands of reviews about CBD and how it’s helped people online and we have clients who’s doctors have said to give it a try. Again though, it’s always best to check with your doctor before starting to take CBD
Can you travel with CBD?
Generally speaking you should be fine to fly with CBD in Europe and the US, however if you are going outside of these countries you are best to check with the local authorities where you are going. This is the same for vapes as vaping is illegal in certain territories.
Will CBD show up on a drug test?
Our Broad Spectrum CBD Oil’s shouldn’t give a positive on a drugs test for THC as there is a zero THC content in our oils. We can’t guarantee that it won’t show up, because some drug tests do look for other cannabids such as CBD and could show a positive. If you’re subject to drug testing as part of your work, we would recommend you speak to the relevant person at work about it, we can also supply a copy of a lab report to show that we’ve tested it for THC content.
I’ve heard of edibles, tinctures, vape pens… What’s the best way to take CBD?
It really depends on what your goal is and why you’re taking CBD in the first place.
Some people don’t like to ingest CBD and prefer to use Topicals such as CBD Recovery Balms. A lot of it comes down to personal preference, in the same way that some people aren’t a fan of using oils and prefer to just take a capsule.
The biggest difference between oils, edibles, vapes etc are the speed of delivery and how long the effects last. Vapes are faster acting, but the effect wears off faster. Oils and edibles last longer but they take a bit longer to kick in.
Whenever you buy from us, we will talk you through the process and help you find the best way to ingest CBD that works for you.
Speaking of which: Has it been third-party tested?
Each of our products and batches are independently lab tested by a third party to ensure consistency, correct content and that what we say is in the bottle is what is in the bottle. These are available on request
What’s the dosing?
Dosing is a confusing thing to think about for many people. You’ll find CBD measured in percentages, mg and other ways with no real clear way of letting you know how much you should be taking.
The way we talk about dosing is based on severity of what you are trying to manage. For example, if you have mild anxiety and are of a healthy weight we would recommend our lowest dose of oil which is 1000mg in a 20ml bottle (or 5%) For people with a higher BMI or more intense conditions we would recommend a higher dose. The way our bottles are designed, is to last for roughly one calendar month. If you find that you are having to top up your dose during the day, then this would suggest that next time, you need to move to a higher dose. There is no evidence to suggest that you can overdose on CBD, so if you find yourself taking more over the course of the day, don’t worry about taking too much.
Does it cure any diseases?
We can’t make any claims that CBD cures anything. This is due to a lack of long term studies. It may help you manage the symptoms, however any company that claims that CBD will cure diseases should be avoided as there are not enough studies to back up these claims.
Last question: Can I give it to my pets?
Generally speaking CBD products are considered safe, and with our pet oils we infuse them with salmon oil to make it more palatable to dogs and cats. However, we would always recommend you consult with a veterinarian first before deciding
